What plug.codes is

plug.codes lets creators publish one public page listing their sponsor discount codes, and see basic stats about how that page performs. This page explains what data we collect and why.

If you're a creator

When you sign up, we use Firebase Authentication to manage your account (email address and a unique account ID). Everything you add to your page - your handle, display name, bio, avatar, social links, and codes - is stored so it can be shown on your public page, and is visible to anyone who visits it.

If you're a visitor to a creator's page

We use Google Analytics (via Google Tag Manager) across plug.codes, including public creator pages, to understand traffic to the site. Google Tag Manager sets cookies and collects data such as your IP address, device/browser information, and the pages you visit, and shares this with Google. See Google's Privacy Policy for how Google handles this data. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or by using your browser's tracking-protection or cookie-blocking settings.

Separately from Google Analytics, when you view a page or use a code, we also record, per visit, through our own first-party system:

  • That a page view, link click, or code copy happened, and on which creator's page.
  • Your approximate country, derived from your IP address at the time of the request.
  • The type of device you're on (mobile, desktop, or tablet), derived from your browser's user agent.
  • The domain that referred you to the page, if any.
  • A one-way hashed "visitor" value derived from your IP address and a secret that rotates daily. This lets us count unique visitors per day without storing your IP address itself or being able to track you across days or sites.

This data is used only to show creators aggregate stats about their own page. It is automatically deleted after a limited retention period.

Service providers

We use Firebase (Google) for authentication, MongoDB for data storage, AWS for hosting, and Google Analytics / Google Tag Manager (Google) for site traffic analytics. Firebase, MongoDB, and AWS process data on our behalf and do not use it for their own purposes. Google Analytics data is subject to Google's own privacy policy and may be used by Google for its own purposes as described there.

Your choices

Creators can edit or delete their codes and profile information at any time from their dashboard.
